Placeholder text for layout testing
Lorem Ipsum-style text fills a design before final copy is available. Use it to test paragraph spacing, card heights, typography and responsive layouts. This generator assembles Latin-style vocabulary into randomized filler; it does not produce meaningful Latin, a translation or a fixed historical passage.
Choose paragraphs, sentences or exact words
Paragraph mode produces the requested number of blocks, with two, four or six sentences in each block according to your length setting. Sentence mode puts the requested number of sentences into one block. Exact-word mode produces one block containing precisely the requested number of space-separated words, without sentence punctuation.
Generate up to 50 paragraphs, 200 sentences or 5,000 words at a time. If you request fewer than five words with the familiar opening enabled, only the corresponding beginning of “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet” is used.
Keep a repeatable design sample
An optional seed lets you reproduce the same generated text with the same generation settings in this version of the tool. Use a label such as “homepage-v1” to keep a sample consistent across layout reviews. Change the seed for a different sample, or leave it empty for random generation. A future change to the generator may change seeded results.
Plain text versus HTML output
Plain text separates paragraph blocks with a blank line. HTML output wraps each block in a paragraph tag. Switching formats does not generate different words. Copying HTML copies a fragment; downloading HTML saves a complete UTF-8 document containing that fragment.
Check the design with real content too
Placeholder text cannot predict every real headline, translation or product description. Test the final design with actual copy, long words, short labels and the scripts your audience uses. Replace filler before publishing a finished page.

Privacy and local generation
This tool’s code generates text in your browser without an external API. It does not send your seed to a processing service or save it in browser storage. Copying writes to your clipboard when requested; downloads are created locally.
Your browser, extensions and other scripts installed on the website have their own behavior, which this tool does not control.
Frequently asked questions
Does word mode generate an exact word count?
Yes. It generates the requested number of space-separated vocabulary words. The opening words count toward the total.
Is this the complete traditional Lorem Ipsum passage?
No. The tool uses a Latin-style word bank to generate filler. The optional familiar opening does not make the rest a historical or grammatically correct Latin passage.
Why does Generate produce the same result with a seed?
A seed deliberately makes generation repeatable with the same settings. Change the seed or clear it to request a different sample. Coincidentally identical output remains possible for very short requests.
Does changing the output format regenerate the words?
No. It only changes how the current sample is formatted. Generation settings apply when you click Generate text.
Why is the sentence count zero in word mode?
Exact-word mode creates a word sequence without sentence punctuation, so no sentences are generated. It still contains one text block.
Can I edit the output directly?
The output box is read only so its statistics remain consistent. Copy or download the result to edit it in your preferred application.
